Our local government must work for all, not just the well-connected. The City Council must ensure good and responsive government operations, transparency, and better overall services throughout the City.
- Introducing a new charter amendment that would empower the City Council to recall and remove the head of city agencies.
- Supporting the recent series of proposed charter amendments which reduce the power of the mayor, call for greater oversight in the procurement process and increases transparency in the city government.
- Ensuring small and minority-owned businesses receive the level of funding and equity necessary to compete with the larger companies competing for city resources.
- Advocating for local laws and increased funding for water bills, helping to ensure that the city assists residents with overdue water and sewage overages, and prohibiting the city from foreclosing on people’s homes due to overdue water bills.
